Hope on Wheels is the united effort of Hyundai Motor America and its more than 800 dealers across the U.S. to help kids fight cancer. The organization is dedicated to raising awareness about childhood cancer, celebrating the hope of the brace children battling the disease and supporting the research and programs that bring us closer to better treatments, therapies, and ultimately, a cure.

The 13th annual Hyundai Hope on Wheels Tour kicked off on April 21, 2011 at the New York International Auto Show and will travel the country to award Hope Grants to Hyundai Scholars at 50 children’s hospitals across the country. This year, Hope on Wheels plans to award Hyundai Scholars with more than $2.7 million in Hope Grants.

At each hospital, Hope on Wheels will host a Handprint Ceremony for the community's childhood cancer patients and survivors. Children are asked to dip their hands in paint and add their colorful handprints to the white Hope on Wheels Hyundai Santa Fe, representing childhood cancer patients from all over the country.

Why handprints? Because there's nothing more personal than a handprint and the goal of the Hope on Wheels Tour is to share the personal triumphs of each of these children with other childhood cancer patients and their families. Whether it's completing a round of chemo, celebrating a beautiful new head of hair or getting a clean bill of health, one patient's milestone can be another's symbol of hope. To date, Hope on Wheels has collected hundreds of handprints and will add many more this year.

On July 20, 2011, the Hyundai Hope on Wheels tour made its way to the Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. David Hanson, general manager of Crain Hyundai North Little Rock, was present to join Hyundai Motors in awarding Little Rock's Dr. Amir Mian with a $40,000 Hope Grant for furthing his research in child cancer research.
