WHAT IS CNG?
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is a readily available alternative to gasoline that's made by compressing natural gas to less than 1% of its volume at standard atmospheric pressure. CNG is ordorless, colorless, and tasteless and consists mostly of methane. It's drawn from domestically drilled gas wells or in conjunction with crude oil production.

HOW IT WORKS

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The costs range and include the retrofit system, fuel tanks, and related tubing brackets as well as the installation. The amount of fuel capacity requested by the customer also impacts the overall cost. To learn more about the cost and what would best fit your needs, please contact one of our sales specialists.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CNG?

  • Natural gas is significantly less expensive than gasoline
  • CNG is more eco-friendly than gasoline. Natural gas produces far fewer harmful emissions and hydrocarbons than gasoline
  •  Using CNG makes the engine cleaner and more efficient. Unlike gasoline, CNG does not produce harmful carbon deposits when combusted, which means fewer oil changes
  • CNG is abundant in the U.S. The country has extensive natural gas resources and a well-established network of pipelines. Switching to CNG can help ease the country's dependency on foreign oil

The safety of CNG actually depends on two important factors: the physical properties of natural gas itself and the CNG fuel system that is designed and built according to stringent quality standards. The physical properties of CNG by itself already make this fuel a safer alternative to gasoline. This means that, unlike gasoline which can ignite even with the slightest spark, it takes a higher temperature to ignite CNG. This results to a lower risk of fire hazards with CNG.

KEEP IN MIND

CNG tanks require storage space. To convert to CNG you may need to sacrifice some space in the truck, truck beds, or behind the seats

While CNG cylinder is heavy, the added weight of the tank is offset by the reduced weight of the gasoline tank that is near empty

CNG filling stations may have limited availability. Converting a vehicle to CNG is most practical and convenient for people living in areas with easy access to filling stations
